Victoria Deiorio

Victoria Deiorio loves the sound of sound.

After earning her BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University and studying classical acting in London at RADA and LAMDA, Victoria combined careers in ballet, acting and songwriting to transition from performance artistry to technical artistry.

She has written plays and musicals, directed, production managed, and produced, but is best known as a critically acclaimed sound designer and composer for theatre. The first woman to be nominated for eleven Joseph Jefferson Awards – winner of six – Victoria has worked with Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Goodman, Steppenwolf Theatre, Court Theatre, Victory Gardens, LA Theatre Works, Centerstage Baltimore, Syracuse Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, and Birmingham Children’s Theatre, among others.

She’s designed productions with Writers’ Theatre, The Next Theatre, Remy Bumppo, Irish Theatre of Chicago, Teatro Vista, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, American Blues, Light Opera Works, and many other storefront theaters.

Currently the head of Sound Design at DePaul University, Victoria is also a founder and on the Executive Board of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA), was a Co-Founder and Associate Artistic Director with COR theatre, a founding member of Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, and a member of Lifeline Theatre.
